This past weekend, the girls got to meet the loud side of the family! ;) Aunt Kathy, Nick, and Ryan Wheelock, Krystal and Rosalyn Tiblier, and Nicole, Nick and Leah Noel came up for a long weekend to hang out and hold our new additions. It was a fun weekend and of course went by too fast. Our big outing of the weekend was to check out Babyland General where the real Cabbage Patch Kids come from. What an interesting, and slightly creepy, place! The kids loved it though, so I guess that's all that matters! They had multiple nurseries for the cabbage patch dolls, cabbages where the kids could pluck out the dolls, and the cabbage patch tree, which 'gives birth' to a new cabbage patch doll each hour, with the help of an 'easyotomy' and on staff nurses and doctor. When they went through the skit of a doll being born, I seriously thought I was going to fall to the floor laughing. It was so funny how the doctor and nurses really play the part and act like it's a live, true birth. Having just given birth recently, I think that made it all the more humorous. When a doll is 'born' the kids in the audience watching can yell out a name and name the new doll. Leah yelled out her name for the first one we saw and so they named her Leah! They took the doll to the newborn nursery, gave it a baby well check and then brought it out for all the kids to hold and get their picture taken with it. If I can get some pictures of the event from Nicole, I'll try to post them on here. Quite the experience!
Nick and Leah SO loved the babies (mine, not the cabbage patch dolls!) and were just so excited to look at them, hold them, and feed them! Nick especially enjoyed reading to them. It was SO cute!! They were really good with them also.
The rest of the weekend was just spent laughing, swimming at the pool, and eating of course! That's what us from the Saam family do best!
Grammy Margie left this past Tuesday. She'd been here since the girls were born and hung around for a month to help with cooking, dog walking, whatever we needed help with. We know it was extremely hard for her to leave and appreciate the time we had with her! We'll be seeing her in a few weeks though when we head up to New York for everyone else in the family, especially Scott's side, to meet Emily and Taylor.
Here are some pictures of the weekend. I'll add more if I get them from Nicole!
