4th of July or BUST!!!

BUST! is the correct part of that phrase.  I was really excited to go to Independence Day activities this year.  I found some to go to at the fair grounds with Fair food, activities, fireworks, and an all ages dance off after the fireworks on July 3rd!  The girls were in their cute holiday outfits and we were ready to go.  It hasn't rained here in at least 3 weeks and of course it poured that one night!  I pushed for us all to go anyway because it seemed like it was just passing over.  Well, it never let up, at least the lightning didn't and the girls were getting feisty since they hadn't eaten yet.  We ended up going to Applebee's, which was apparently everyone else's idea at the time cause it was a long wait to sit down and to get food.
Of course, right about the time we got our food, they did the fireworks anyway and where we were sitting, there was no way to see them.  I was so disappointed!
But, there's always the next day to celebrate on, right?  Well, by the time it got to the time the festivities were starting at the mall parking lot, I couldn't get past the thought of standing outside, in no shade, in 100 degree weather.  Then, fighting to find a spot for our car to watch the fireworks and fighting to get out of the lot when they were over with.  All with two 1 year olds who are used to going to bed at 8!  So, we canceled that and just did our own fireworks in our backyard.  A couple of them were pretty impressive, but nothing crazy.  We could hear the mall ones and then I wished we went!  Oh well, better luck next year!  Maybe the girls will like them a little more next year.  Oh!  We did get to go to a parade Wednesday morning which was fun.  But it was LONG!!!  Two hours and we were still watching stuff go by.  We ended up leaving since it got pretty hot and 1 year olds can only take so much of random floats throwing candy AT us.
I still need to post on the girls going to daycare and all the changes in our life related to that!  Hopefully this week I can get that done!
