Birthday Interviews

FINALLY!!!!  I have taken the time to add to this blog the interviews I conducted with Emily and Rosie for their 4th birthday!  Unfortunately, I couldn't find the recording of the interviews I did last year (I know I have it somewhere), so I couldn't remember the questions I asked, so I stole these from a friend's blog (thanks Erin!).  The biggest thing I noticed with these interviews was how much just the interview and questioning process showcased their very different personalities.  Each time I asked Rosie a question, her answer was immediate, quick, and excited.  For example, when I asked what her favorite color is, she immediately responded with "Purple!!".  Emily's answers were very thought out, drawn out, and had to be explained in detail.  With the color example, when I asked Emily what her favorite color is, she explained "Well...um....orange and purple...because I like different colors".  If I could remember how to upload voice recordings, I would, but I can't figure it out anymore!  I'm sorry!  But, here goes:

Rosie (the exclamation points after her answers show you how much or little she shouted each answer!)
What is your favorite color?  Purple!!
What is your favorite toy? A Unicorn!!! (she practically shouted this one, she was so excited)
What is your favorite thing to wear?  My wedding dress!! (the dress she wore to my cousin's wedding)
What is your favorite song?  Jesus Loves Me!!!
What is your favorite book?  Uni!! (Uni the Unicorn)
What is your favorite TV show?  Sofia the First!!
Who is your best friend?  Mommy!!! (awwww!)
What is your favorite game?  A puzzle!!
What's your favorite thing to do outside?  Play!  With what? My new bike!!
What is your favorite thing to do with Mommy and Daddy?  Play!  With what?  My toys!!
What is your favorite thing to do with your friends?  Play!  Where?  At our house
What is your favorite thing to do at school?  Um, play  With what?  The school bus (??)
What did you want for dinner on your birthday?  A sausage (weirdo!) (Asked in past tense since of course I did the interviews after their actual birthday.  They did ask for hot dogs for their birthday dinner)
What is your favorite treat?  Candy
What makes you feel sad?  Um...when somebody hits me
What makes you feel happy?  When no one don't hit me 
What is something you're good at?  Playing soccer  Are your really good at soccer?  Yeah!!!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?  Chick-Fil-A!!! (I knew she was going to say that!)
What do you want to be when you grow up?  Mommy (how sweet!)
What's your favorite thing you did when you were 3?  Had vitamins  (what a silly girl)
(notice the exclamation points died out after a while)

What is your favorite color?  Um...well orange and purple

What is your favorite toy? Welllllll....ummm...that spiderman toy that's at The Disney Store because it shoots real webs and I like real webs

What is your favorite thing to wear?  My Spiderman girl dress

What is your favorite song?  Um...well...oh...hmmm...uh...Shake It Off (I knew it!)

What is your favorite book?  The big princess book

What is your favorite TV show?  Ummm...well... Planes (that's random)

Who is your best friend?  Callie (awwww!)

What is your favorite game?  The Hello Kitty game

What's your favorite thing to do outside?  Um...well...uh...play with the little sprinkler 

What is your favorite thing to do with Mommy and Daddy?  Cuddle

What is your favorite thing to do with your friends?  Have fun  

What is your favorite thing to do at school?  Um...just...They both asked for hot dogs for their birthday dinner)

What is your favorite treat?  Um...well...lollipops

What makes you feel sad?  Um...when somebody takes stuff away from me

What makes you feel happy?  When they give it back 

What is something you're good at?  I'm good at school

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?  At the beach

What do you want to be when you grow up?  You, and have a new baby in my belly (precious!)

What's your favorite thing you did when you were 3?  Uh...have fun at school

I can't wait until their interviews when they turn 5.  Each year, it's easier for them to understand the questions and it's interesting to see how their thinking progresses!
