Where in the world did June and July go?? Time sure does fly when you're having fun! This has been a
very, very busy summer! Besides the obvious things like having a baby, 4 other birthdays within 6 weeks, and having my parents here for 2 months while my dad had, and recovered from, surgery, we have managed to add many, many other things to our schedule!
The weekend after Callie got out of the hospital, my Aunt Kathy, cousin Krystal, and her two daughters came to visit. A must on our list with them was the Baby Land General cabbage patch place way up in North Georgia. We had gone there 4 years ago when the twins were newborns, so it was fun to see them there now. Matt loved it as much as they did! It's SO cheesy, and us adults got some good laughs out of the trip, but the kids loved it!
| It's a full house in my vehicle now! And I love it! |
Meeting Daddy at the lake a couple of times was a good way to get out of the house and tire the kids out.
| I may have forgotten Matt's swim diaper...this one seriously weighed at least 10 pounds |
We got in A LOT of library time this Summer. They had a lot of great activities around the local Gwinnett County Libraries and the main theme for the whole Summer as Superheroes (perfect for the superhero obsessed Emily!) The Collins Hill Library had a Superhero Training Camp, which was so fun for the kids! There are different stations where they came up with their superhero name, walked along a bridge with lava around them, threw bean bags in holes, crawled threw a tunnel, kicked down a wall of blocks, did a maze, and lifted weights. They really enjoyed it.
| Even Callie had on her Supergirl shirt |
| Lots and lots of pool time over the Summer. I think they swam every day while my mom was here |
| This girl is looking SO much older! |
| Ice Cream stop and photo op at Suwanee Town Center with Daddy |
| A trip to the dentist to get her first cavities filled :( |
| Hiking |
| Home projects |
Another great library event was the magic show. It was so good the first time that we went twice! Rosie volunteered at one point, but then got stage fright. The girl up there with her was called up by the magician after Rosie, since Rosie just froze up and wouldn't do a single thing, or talk at all... I don't think she has a future in show business!
| Many, MANY trips to COSTCO! I find reasons to buy stuff there just so we can walk around and get the free samples. They kids get a kick out of looking out for the Hats |
| Food Truck Thursdays in Sugar Hill with Poppy and Noodle |
As if we didn't get enough pool time, we even went to a friend's pool a couple of times.
| More library fun |
| Emily has been having weekly visits with my Chiropractor to hopefully help with bed wetting |
Fun at the Splash Pad with our Gwinnett Mothers of Multiples friends:
We had some stinky septic problems, which led to great entertainment for the kids, watching the guy dig the hole!
| We've also kept up with soccer all Summer and are continuing into the Fall. |
Add to all this, multiple playdates, a million trips to Chick-Fil-A, and we have had a fast, fun-filled, packed Summer. It's been SO wonderful getting a chance to do all of these things with the kids throughout the Summer. This is not something I've ever had the opportunity to do before, working full-time. I am so loving this life as a full-time Mom!!!! It is never lost on me how fortunate I am to have this opportunity. I was just thinking the other day that if I was still working, this would be my last week of maternity leave. It stresses me out just thinking about leaving Callie, and the schedule I've had for the last year, and it's not even ending!
Now, bring on the Fall! Cooler weather, Pumpkins, Hot Chocolate, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and 3 kids in school!
Mrs. J
